Why Choose Rose Cottage Nursing Home

At Rose Cottage Nursing Home, we believe that everyone in our care needs to be treated as an individual. The dedicated and experienced team of nursing and care staff provide appropriate care in a homely and stable environment, taking care to uphold resident privacy, choice and quality of life.

Our residents are given choice in all aspects of daily living and each has an individual care plan. All residents are treated with respect and dignity. We promote good communication between all parties involved in the resident’s care.

The quality of our service is maintained through staff training and supervision. Regular audits take place to monitor that quality. Comments from relatives are especially welcomed.

There is a no smoking policy in operation. However, smoking is allowed in a designated area.

What relatives have said about us

Couldn’t ask for better carers. There is a low turnover of staff so they really care, take great pride in doing a top-notch job of caring for the residents. Home is well maintained, communication second to none, mum’s hygiene seems excellent. Staff know all the little quirks of their residents.

Applauding the way my brother has been cared for over the past four years providing me with comport when living so far away in Cornwall so not able to visit often. The management are always cheerful, kind, caring and friendly. Promptly contacted if any concerns with his health.

Good standard of cleanliness and hygiene and excellent food.

I would recommend Rose Cottage to anyone who is looking for total peace of mind that their relatives are well cared for.

Sister of TW 12/1/24

Words can’t really express the gratitude I and my family have for the outstanding compassionate care you showed towards my wife. We couldn’t have expected she would be looked after so brilliantly. You have an outstanding team of carers and I’m so pleased we found your home for the last years of her life.

Since new management took over it engages more with the community where residents have been able to access facilities within the Parish.

New decor has added to the atmosphere – lighter and brighter – and residents are more alert and happier. Regular short updates on mum’s condition always provided when I visit. I do not hesitate to recommend Rose Cottage to everyone in the area.

Thank you very much for looking after my uncle. Your team are very caring and professional, and I feel he was very lucky to have a placement at Rose Cottage.

Niece of FT 14/8/23

At every stage of mum’s decline over the past six years you have treated her with dignity and love, always keeping me informed of chages in her needs. Your ability to train and retain staff is appreciated as it is important for people suffereing fro dementia to have continuity of care.

The change and improvement with my dad would not have been possible without the care and love given. Nothing is too much trouble and I feel relieved and happy knowing he has 24 hour care especially if he has been unwell. Cared for by attentive, polite and friendly staff, I cannot thank them enough for all that they do.

How well people think we are doing

The time that staff spend with Oxford Brookes students is much appreciated and I would like to express my gratitude.

It is important that they are left in no doubt about what they are doing well and what they need to work on to achieve their placement goals.

Very happy with the care given to our mother-in-law.

Staff so very kind and caring, nothing too much trouble. If she is happy, we are happy.

Son-in-law of HW 14/9/23

Heartfelt thanks for staff who went above and beyond the duty of care which enabled the family and I to be able to take my husband out for the day to Weston-Super-Mare. A few things had changed after he went into the nursing home, and everything was taken care of to ensure his safety and comfort when out. I cannot tell you how grateful I am for what staff did for us.”
Wife of WC, 20/7/23

Always a lovely welcome to visitors, lovely atmosphere, dad being well looked after.
Daughter of DH 1/3/23

Staff and Management have kept us well informed on all matters and relayed doctors’ recommendations 12 months on, where it has been a trying time for the family due to our mother’s ill health and age-related issues. Mum’s well-being always at the forefront of their care and kindness which has been over and above what anyone could reasonably expect.

Cannot praise the staff high enough. Extremely professional in all they do. After two years we would not hesitate to recommend Rose Cottage.
